We were reminded of how much fun a ‘trash the dress’ session can be, this month in Flagstaff! Our good friend, Erin, recently ended an engagement and simultaneously launched a new business. What are you to do, in order to show your support for a friend who’s immersed in a time of such transition and mixed emotions!? If you’re no stranger to a trash the dress session, then you grab your camera and spend the day with her in Flagstaff!
Erin says, “Relationships end. Life changes. You are allowed to be sad. You are allowed to grieve. But at some point you have to put on your big girl shoes and move forward.” Launching a business is definitely one way to move forward! Once a pipedream of Erins, Peak Hospitality Solution is now live as an operations and management training and marketing management company in Northern Arizona!
So, sure, there were some tears and a maybe a shot… or a few… of Sazerac Whiskey throughout the day (but who’s counting?). More importantly, there is empowerment, fearlessness, and self-love to be seen through Erin’s ability to put on the wedding dress. A dress she anticipated walking down an aisle with, towards an alter and groom, was now seeing the light of Erin’s everyday life. From taking care of dirty laundry, walking down the aisles of the grocery store, and a visit to Erin’s ‘happy place’: New Roots Personal Training gym, we captured it all.
Photography isn’t only about celebrating the positives that life throws your way, but about reflecting on the challenges and emotions that go along with the ups and downs, as well. And a trash the dress session is no exception to that. We wish you nothing but happiness and success, Erin!
