There’s a story to be told through every pet photography session at The R2 Studio! Especially when the subject is man’s best friend, or in this case, woman’s best friend. The animal in focus today is Lucy, the dog, and her owner, Aimee.
While casually searching through Petfinder, Aimee’s attention was caught by a particular dog. However, she wasn’t quite ready to act on anything yet, as she was working through the loss of her former dog, Molly, at the time. Eventually, her sister took her to the Humane Association and they spotted that same dog: Lucy! She was a stray dog that had been found on the Indian reservation. After showing Aimee the most affection that day, Lucy had surely found her forever home. And she has turned out to be sweetest, most loving dog she has ever had.
However, Aimee’s relationship with her new dog hasn’t always been a walk in the park, as we learned during their pet photography session. She explains, “I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Not only was she afraid of everything, had aggression, but she was quite the escape artist… and still is! Lucy has turned out to be our Houdini of the family.” In addition to escaping, Lucy had a long list of medical problems to be taken care of. Despite the many trials and obstacles, Aimee couldn’t be happier with her dog.
Lucy’s a survivor, as we captured during her pet photography session in the studio. No matter how many times Lucy escapes, she always has a place to call home. And Aimee has found a life-long friend to come home to everyday… even if she has to track down the escaping dog a time or two!
