When Renee and I had our intimate wedding in Kauai, a handful of our good friends made the trip with us to Kauai, HI. Many of our friends found themselves falling in love with the culture and vibe that Kauai lends itself to. Joey and Salina were one such couple, bitten by the Kauai bug and had to go back!
When we found out that our summer plans of traveling to Hawaii overlapped with their return to Kauai, we had to set up a shoot with them. Being that Renee and I have spent a lot of time in Kauai, I had a few spots in mind of where I wanted to take them. Their attire was very characteristic of what one might see if they were having an intimate wedding in Kauai. In fact, they received a couple of “congratulations” from tourists along the way, which made it super fun. I think it’s always fun for couples, no matter how many years you have been married, to feel that spark of the wedding day all over again.
So, for the rest of their session we just played along and pretended that they had just eloped in Kauai. The result was fantastic! We hit up the Hanalei valley to get the view of the taro fields in the background. We then finished up at “Hideaways” beach or Poli Ke Kua in Princeville off The North Shore.
Joey and Salina’s anniversary session in Kauai was out of this world. What an awesome way to rekindle the flame. Can’t wait to see what we do for their 10 year!!!
